Stephanie Fotherby-Verk Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
I support individuals, children, teens, and families who are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, or stuck in difficult emotional and relationship patterns. Life can feel heavy when anxiety takes over, emotions feel hard to manage, or family relationships become strained. My goal is to offer a safe, compassionate space where clients can build understanding, resilience, and meaningful change.
Many of the people I work with struggle with anxiety, emotional reactivity, overthinking, low self-confidence, relationship conflict, and attachment challenges. Children and teens may feel misunderstood, emotionally overwhelmed, or unsure how to express themselves. Parents and families often come to therapy seeking better communication, stronger connection, and a calmer, more supportive home environment. Together, we work to understand what’s happening beneath the surface and develop healthier ways of coping and relating.
My approach is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Attachment-Based Therapy. ACT helps clients develop emotional flexibility and move toward what truly matters to them, even when anxiety shows up. Solution-Focused Therapy highlights strengths, resources, and small steps that create real progress. Attachment-Based Therapy explores how early relationships shape emotional patterns, self-worth, and connection with others, helping families and individuals build security and trust.
With children and teens, I focus on emotional regulation, communication, confidence, and building healthy coping skills in a developmentally supportive way. With families, therapy often involves improving understanding, strengthening bonds, and creating safer, more connected relationships. For individuals, we work on managing anxiety, clarifying values, setting boundaries, and building self-compassion.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. Whether you’re feeling anxious, disconnected, overwhelmed, or unsure where to begin, support is available. I offer a free 20-minute consultation so you can ask questions and see if we’re a good fit.
If you’re looking for an anxiety therapist, child therapist, teen counsellor, or family therapist, I would be honoured to support you on your journey toward emotional wellness and stronger connections.

Emma Laughlan
Emma has always been fascinated by how people think, feel, and make sense of their experiences. Guided by deep curiosity and compassion, she aims to create a therapeutic space where individuals feel understood, supported, and empowered.
Emma holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from St. Francis Xavier University, with minors in French and English, and is currently completing her Master’s in Counselling Psychology. She is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. Her educational background, combined with her experience as an Educational Assistant, informs her supportive, flexible, and inclusive approach to care. In this role, Emma developed skills in adapting strategies to meet individual needs, fostering meaningful connections, and creating environments where people feel respected and encouraged.
She is particularly interested in working with youth ages 10 and up, adolescents, young adults, athletes, performers, and families navigating neurodivergence. Her areas of interest include identity development, performance pressure, burnout, transitions, and emotional well-being.
Emma’s therapeutic style is client-focused, collaborative, and strengths-based. She draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, somatic-informed approaches, and Narrative Therapy, while incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Internal Family Systems when helpful. She believes that meaningful change begins when people feel seen, understood, and supported in reconnecting with their strengths.
Emma’s interest in working with athletes and performers stems from her own experiences as a performer. After unexpectedly leaving sport, she found a passion for the performing arts, including singing, musical theatre, choirs, and festivals. These experiences deepened her appreciation for the complex emotions, identity shifts, performance pressures, and life transitions that athletes and performers may navigate.
Outside of her professional work, Emma enjoys discovering small live music venues, staying connected to the arts, planning trips, exploring local coffee shops, and spending time with her dog, Drew.
